But He's Black and White

'We Ignore the President's Whiteness, But It's There, It's There'

I like the double emphasis on where it is

Comedian Chris Rock plays the zebra Marty in "Madagascar 3: Escape to Euro” and appeared on NBC’s “Today” show to promote it. Ann Curry asked. Rock what animal he could be if he could choose anything. After considering the lion ("king of the jungle and all that") and the snake ("scare people, sssssss!"), Rock decided he'd stick with Marty the zebra, joking that it was "in honor of our zebra president, black and white, white and black." "I love our president, you know, but he's black and white, he appeals to all," Rock said. "That's what I'm going for….We ignore the President’s whiteness, but it’s there, it’s there,” Rock smiled and said.

Puppet of the Israel Lobby

'Obama ... Stressed He Probably Knows About Judaism More than Any Other President'

"[A]ll his friends in Chicago were Jewish."

May 30, 2012 • By DANIEL HALPER, Weekly Standard

President Obama met yesterday with "about 20 Conservative Jewish community leaders, thanking them for the work they do to improve communities around the country and discussed their shared commitment to rebuilding the U.S. economy," Haaretz reports.

Obama in Cairo
In the meeting, Obama reportedly boasted about his knowledge of Judaism, telling the leaders that he thinks he knows more "about Judaism" than all past presidents. He said he gained this knowledge of Judaism from reading.
"Obama ... stressed he probably knows about Judaism more than any other president, because he read about it," Haaretz reports. "[He] wondered how come no one asks Speaker of the House of Representatives John Boehner or Senate minority leader Mitch McConnel [sic] about their support to Israel."

Similarly, he said to the group, "I [am] not going to tell you again how I even feel about Israel, but why [are] we still talking about it?"

He then suggested that he should not be questioned about his commitment to the Jewish state because "all his friends in Chicago were Jewish - and at the beginning of his political career he was accused of  being a puppet of the Israel lobby," Haaretz reports.
According to Ynet's account of the meeting, President Obama insisted that the perception that he's not a friend of Israel is the work of Republican bigotry:
During the meeting, Obama told the rabbis that when he was running for Senate some accused him of being the Jewish lobby's "puppet" because of his many Jewish associates in Chicago. Now, he said, the Republicans are trying to portray him as not being supportive of Israel by stressing the fact that his father was Muslim and he has a Muslim name, as well as by claiming that he had been overly aggressive in pushing Prime Minister BenjaminNetanyahu to promote the peace process with the Palestinians.
White House chief of staff Jack Lew, an Orthodox Jew, also attended yesterday's White House meeting.

Another Liberal Mugged By Reality

The Beatings Will Continue Until Moral Improves
Former Saturday Night Live star Jon Lovitz is learning the hard way that despite liberals' claims to love humor and comedy, they can't stand it when their own side is being criticized. The liberal comic is facing a huge amount of criticism on Twitter for taking exception to President Obama's continual assertions that wealthy Americans don't pay a "fair" amount of taxes.

While Lovtiz has been bashed on Twitter, he clearly wasn't expecting to be accused of making some sort of violent threat against Obama. And yet that's exactly what happened last night on the HLN show Dr. Drew where the host, Drew Pinsky, seemed to genuinely believe that. Lovitz was clearly taken back by such a bizarre assertion, making for some very awkward television before a producer rescued Pinsky from embarrassment. Video and transcript below.

Lovitz was presumably primarily booked on the more pop-culture-oriented Dr. Drew to talk about his recent exposure on Twitter of an anti-semitic prank played on a friend of his daughter's by some schoolmates.

While he mentioned the prank story in his introduction to the segment, Pinsky switched gears once he began talking to Lovitz, speaking instead about the comedian's other Twitter mini-story, his continued defense of his idea that as an upper-income individual, he is already paying his "fair share" of taxes.

Yeah, That's the Ticket

“Saturday Night Live” comedic legend Jon Lovitz is doubling down on his harsh criticism of Barack Obama’s alleged wealth confiscation and redistribution policies, claiming the president is lying to Americans.

“The President is lying to get votes … it’s obvious and transparent,” Lovitz, a self-proclaimed Democrat who voted for Obama in 2008, said on his Twitter feed Saturday night.

Lovitz was responding to criticism from those apparently in his own party, after the comic in January went on a graphic, four-letter word diatribe against Obama, calling him “a f—ing a–hole.”

Lovitz seemed a bit surprised his comments became widely reported, tweeting, “Because I criticized the President, it’s news? Last I checked, he’s President, not King! This is America! Freedom of Speech. what’s the bfd?”

One apparent liberal named Peg said to Lovitz, “This is red meat for conservatives who are trying to prove the whole country hates him, you gave them ammo, they’re using it.”

“Excuse me,” responded Lovitz, “the President is lying … I just pointed it out. It’s not my fault he’s lying.”

He added: “I haven’t gotten any backlash. I am a Democrat and liberal … Liberal, from the word “Liberty” Freedom to be who you are … be it conservative, democrat, republican, libertarian … liberal … freedom to be true to yourself … that’s what liberal means.”

Another critic told Lovitz, “You criticized the wrong president. If you’d blasted Bush, you’d be funny, smart, and possibly a hero.”

“I have blasted Bush … in my stand up act,” said Lovitz. “No one commented on it, though.”

Someone with a handle of Dan The Man told Lovitz he should pay more in taxes: “The majority of celebrities I’ve seen on TV lately say they make a lot of money & they don’t mind paying a lil more.”

Lovitz responded, “I don’t mind paying a little more. I pay my fair share now. The President is lying to get votes…it’s obvious and transparent.”

Coretta Graham then tweeted her own obscenities, telling Lovitz, “U Sir are the F*** A-hole. The rich (people making over 250k) do not pay their fair share of taxes. That is a Fact.”

“Well, you’ve proven my point,” said Lovitz. “You believe the propaganda. I know what I am paying in taxes. You are being lied to.”

“I was upset with the President LYING,” he added. “I pay my fair share of taxes and so does everyone else I know who is in the same tax bracket.”

Lovitz, best known for his catchphrase of “Yeah, that’s the ticket” by his character, the pathological liar Tommy Flanagan, dropped the F-bomb on Obama in a January podcast that became widely known last week.

The podcast, titled “The ABC’s of SNL,” was co-hosted by filmmaker Kevin Smith, and billed as being recorded “live from the Jon Lovitz Podcast Theatre.” (WARNING: Comments made in the YouTube video of the event contain obscene material.)

Lovitz said: “This whole thing with Obama saying the rich don’t pay their taxes is f—ing bullsh–. And I voted for the guy, and I’m a Democrat. What a f—ing a–hole. The rich don’t pay their taxes? Let me tell you something, right. First they say to you, you’re dead broke, ‘the United States of America, you can do anything you want, go for it.’ So then you go for it and then you make it, and everyone’s like ‘f— you.’”

Lovitz went on to say Obama “is the perfect example. He’s amazing. He had nothing. He had no father. He was, you know, of mixed race which is a burden in the United, don’t kid yourself, you know, growing up like that, and no money, and the guy ends up being at Harvard. He’s the President of the United States. And now he’s like, f— me!”

Since his “Saturday Night Live” days, Lovitz has appeared in numerous movies, from “Big” with Tom Hanks, to 2010′s “Casino Jack,” the story of notorious Washington lobbyist Jack Abramoff.

His fellow cast member, Victoria Jackson, who’s now a WND columnist, made national headlines in March 2010 when she released a song on YouTube titled, “There’s a Communist in the White House,” which has collected more than a half-million views. http://www.wnd.com

Spike Lee Tweets Wrong Address of Zimmerman - Elderly Couple Live in Fear

Elderly couple forced out of home after tweet claims killer of Trayvon Martin lives there

An elderly Florida couple have been forced to move into a hotel after their home address was wrongly tweeted as belonging to the man who shot teen Trayvon Martin.

The tweets were traced back to a man in California and the address was also reportedly retweeted by director Spike Lee to his almost 250,000 followers.

The couple, aged 70 and 72, have been harassed with hate mail, been hassled by media and had scared neighbors questioning them since the tweet, their son Chip Humble told the Orlando Sentinel.

Fearful for their safety, and hoping to escape the spotlight, the couple have temporarily moved to a hotel.

The confusion seems to stem from the fact the woman's son is named William George Zimmerman and he lived briefly at the address in 1995.

When William Zimmerman pleaded with the man who tweeted the address, the man responded, "Black power all day. No justice, no peace" along with an obscenity.

Neighborhood Watch volunteer George Zimmerman shot and killed Martin in a Sanford gated community on Feb. 26, with emotions and anger running at fever pitch while he remains free.

William Zimmerman said he used his mother and stepfather's address to register a car, get a drivers license and vote when he lived there after college.

"This is really scary, and I'm concerned for my family," William Zimmerman said. "It's scary because there are people who aren't mentally right and will take this information and run with it.

"To endanger people who are innocent because people are angry is not the answer. That's not how we're going to heal. It's not [going] to help the Martin family for someone else to be hurt."

Tea Party Madness

Unemployment at 10% - No Surprise they Could Keep This a Secret
"France, and the whole of Europe have a great culture and an amazing history. Most important thing though is that people there know how to live! In America they've forgotten all about it. I'm afraid that the American culture is a disaster." - Johnny Depp (pictured with the first family, October 2009)
"White House officials were so nervous about how a splashy, Hollywoodesque party would look to jobless Americans -- or their representatives in Congress, who would soon vote on health care -- that the event was not discussed publicly, and Burton and Depp's contributions went unacknowledged."

Roman Polanski Apologizes to Woman He Raped When She Was 13, Also Blames Press; GETS STANDING OVATION

Published September 28, 2011 | NewsCore

Oscar-winning director Roman Polanski apologizes to the woman he sexually assaulted when she was a 13-year-old girl in a new documentary that premiered Tuesday night at the Zurich Film Festival.

"She is a double victim: my victim and a victim of the press," he said in Laurent Bouzereau's "Roman Polanski: A Film Memoir," according to the Hollywood Reporter.

The Franco-Polish director was charged in 1977 for giving Samantha Geimer, who was 13 at the time, champagne and drugs during a photo shoot at the Hollywood home of actor Jack Nicholson

It Wasn't Rape-Rape; Child molestation and sodomy?  Maybe.  He gave her quaaludes.

The then 43-year-old filmmaker then had sex with her despite her protests.

Polanski pleaded guilty to unlawful intercourse as part of a plea deal in 1978, but fled the US before being sentenced. He has remained an active filmmaker from his home base in France and has avoided extradition to the US with limited travel.

France does not have an extradition treaty with the US.

In 2009, however, he was apprehended by Swiss authorities when he tried to attend that year's Zurich Film Festival to receive a lifetime achievement award. He spent 10 months there under house arrest before he was ultimately released.

Tuesday night he received a standing ovation at the festival as he finally accepted the award.

Polanski, 78, thanked the crowd, telling them it was "better late than never."

"It's a strange anniversary for me, two years, day for day [since his arrest in 2009]. … Certain parts of it I'd rather forget, but I'm happy to be here," he added.

Polanski won an Academy Award for Best Director for his 2002 film "The Pianist" but was unable to attend the Oscar ceremony in Los Angeles due to his legal issues.

"Like so many others, I'm beginning to wonder just where the man stands.”

Though many stars have already signed on to support Obama’s re-election, not everyone in Hollywood is happy with the president. The latest disillusioned celeb: Robert Redford.

'Primetime Propaganda': Does it matter that most Hollywood liberals are Jews?

The author of the new book referenced in an earlier SMUG ALERT post says: "I want people to know, by seeing an Orthodox Jew like me on places like 'O'Reilly,' that Jews are on both sides of the aisle and that Jewishness isn't just tied to socialism. I wanted to take that bat out of their hands."
